[..YouTube..] Not really. In fact, their “natural” state IS white noise. The womb was full of it. Expecting babies to sleep in silence is working against their natural way of falling asleep. Not to mention it’s great for blocking out distractions (noisy older sibling, barking dog, etc.) that can wake a sleeping baby. Plus, white noise isn’t just for babies. Many adults also find it helpful either to concentrate or to sleep, either through a white noise machine or even just a simple electric fan.

I would much rather use this as an aid for them then just let them cry constantly and not sleep.
